Overview

This website is static. It has no user accounts, no contact form, no newsletter, no analytics and no advertising, and it sets no cookies. You can read every page without giving us any personal data. The only place where data leaves our server is a video you choose to play, and that requires your explicit consent — see “Videos” below.

Hosting and server log files

The website is hosted by Uberspace (uberspace.de) on servers in Germany. Like any web server, it records each request in log files: the requesting IP address, the date and time, the page or file requested, the referring page, and the browser and operating system reported by your browser. This data is necessary to deliver the site and to detect and defend against attacks; we do not use it to identify individual visitors and do not combine it with other data. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure website.

Cookies and browser storage

This website sets no cookies. The only thing we store in your browser is your decision on the video consent notice, and only if you give it: a single entry in sessionStorage, which your browser discards when you close the tab. It stays on your device and is never transmitted to us.

Fonts

The typeface used on this site is served from our own server. No request is made to Google Fonts or to any other external font service.

Documents

Management plans, public summaries, our environmental, social and governance policy and all other PDF files are hosted on our own server. Downloading them contacts no third party.

Videos (YouTube)

Some news articles include a video hosted on YouTube, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. We do not embed the player automatically. On page load you only see a preview image served from our own server, so no data is sent to Google. The player is embedded only after you press play and confirm the consent notice. From that moment Google receives your IP address, information about your browser and device, and may set cookies or read existing ones; if you are signed in to a Google account, the visit can be attributed to it. We use the domain youtube-nocookie.com, which limits cookies until playback starts. The legal basis is your consent; you may withdraw it at any time by closing the page or clearing your browser storage. Your choice is stored in your browser for the current session only (sessionStorage) and is not transmitted to us. Details: policies.google.com/privacy.

Links to other websites

Our pages link to external websites, among them unique-landuse.de, unique-forestinvestment.de and youtube.com. Once you follow such a link, this policy no longer applies and the privacy policy of the site you have reached takes over. We have no influence on how those sites handle your data.

If you write to info@unique-wood.com, we process your email address and whatever you tell us solely in order to answer you, and we keep the correspondence for as long as we need it for that purpose or as long as we are required to.

Your rights

You may ask us what data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, ask us to restrict its processing, object to it, or receive it in a portable form. Write to the address above. If you consider that we handle your data unlawfully, you may also complain to the competent supervisory authority.

Automated decisions

We use your data neither for automated decision-making nor for profiling.
